Fall Maple Cookies With Maple Cream Frosting

Fall Maple Cookies:

1/2 cup shortening

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream or evaporated milk
1 tbsp. maple flavoring
2 -3/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup nuts

Cream shortening, sugars, and eggs. Add sour cream and flavoring. Add dry ingreidents, then nuts. Drop by spoonfuls on cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool and frost with recipe below.

FROSTING:

1/2 cup butter
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tsp. maple flavoring
2-4 tsp. hot water

Melt butter. Beat in sugar and maple flavoring. Add hot water and beat well.
Spread on cooled cookies.
