3/4 Cup Unsweetened Applesauce1 Cup Cinnamon
1 Tablespoon Ground Cloves
2 Tablespoons White Glue
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon Oil
*TIP: Buy the larger, cheap bottles of spices at Michael's or Dollar Tree.
Mix the cinnamon and cloves together, then add it to the applesauce, cinnamon oil and glue. Knead the dough for a a few minutes until you have it the consistency you want. If you think it's a little to wet, add more cinnamon. If it's too dry, add more applesauce. Roll the dough about 1/4 inch thick onto a surface dusted with cinnamon. Cut with cookie cutter shapes and then make a hole in the top, so you can add a ribbon for hanging, once it's dry. Air dry them for several days on paper towels. Be sure to turn them over several times during the day, so they will dry evenly.
If you want, you can also press the dough into candy molds, instead of rolling and cutting them out with cookie cutters.

To decorate AFTER ornaments are dry, mix half and half white glue and water. Brush on the ornament and sprinkle gold glitter on the top. I prefer Martha Stewart's ultra fine glitter. Florentine Gold is a pretty and I think it would look very nice on these ornaments.
