Make some Christmas Cheer Cinnamon-Sugar Shakers! I gave these to my co-workers one year and they loved them!
I filled a salt shaker (with holes large enough at the top) to shake out cinnamon sugar. I made two tags with two different poems on them. The first one says, "At this time when we fell most blessed, Holidays can make us stressed. So when you feel the crabbies coming near, Sprinkle your toast with some Christmas cheer!" (Author Unknown) The other tags says, "May your Christmas be sprinkled with laughter and love!" (Saying Courtesy of Jazbo.) In the past, I’ve used the little Mason jar salt shakers at Wal-Mart. They are approx. .97 cents each, but you might be able to find regular salt shakers cheaper at the dollar store. You can tie ribbon use Christmas yarn to tie on little bells, put a ribbon bow, glue tiny poinsettias around the neck of the jar, add wired package decorations (as seen in photo) or maybe use rub-ons with a Christmas theme, etc. ~Use your imagination! Attach the “Christmas Cheer” tag to the shaker with a rubber band. REGULAR CINNAMON-SUGAR RECIPE: 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon per 1 cup sugar. FOR DIABETICS: Replace the sugar with Splenda® and make the measurements 1/2 cup Splenda® with 1/4 cup cinnamon. Lightly sprinkle on buttered toast. TIP: Dollar Tree, Michael's and Walmart sell cinnamon in the large, less expensive containers anywhere from .50 to a dollar. Watch for them, because they will be popping up before the holidays.

Hi Lori Jean
What an adorable idea!! The tags came out really cute and it is a really nice all-round gift.
Thanks for sharing once again.
Hope you have a great weekend and get to see your grandson.
Cheers
Annelize
Thank you, Annelize!
I try to find creative little "thinking of you" gifts.
Not an easy task! lol!
My kids made similar items for Teacher Gifts when they were younger, but I find myself still making cinnamon sugar for friends.
Red Hatters and Church Ladies especially.
BTW: I found fairly large containers of premixed Cinnamon Sugar at Dollar Tree at last visit, but somehow it wasn't quite the same. Still worth buying the sugar and cinnamon separately as you did.
I use shaker containers when I have them, especially the little parmesan cheese type shakers (tag sales) but another favorite container is the little brown jars from bread machine yeast. Easy to decorate w/strip of paper, fabric or Contact shelf liner strips; I have some with Sunflowers. The lids can be similarly covered or spray-painted. The brown jars require using a Spoon vs. Sprinkling, but because toast and coffee/tea/cocoa go together, seems to work out OK.
