OH-SO-EASY Doughnuts! Fun to Make For Any Holiday!


These doughnuts are fun to make with the kids and are very good! Great for church or club breakfasts'. Add sprinkles to the the donuts with chocolate or vanilla icing, according to the holiday.

Ingredients:
2 Cans Buttermilk Biscuits
Canola or Peanut Oil for Frying

Heat 2 inches of oil to 350° in a large pot or dutch oven.
Lay your biscuits out on a cutting board and cut a hole in the middle of each biscuit with a small 1/2 inch circle cookie cutter or anything that will cut a small circle. Lay your biscuits in the oil and fry until golden. Flip with tongs to fry the other side. Drain on paper towels.

ICING RECIPES:

CINNAMON-SUGAR COATING:
1/4 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon

POWDERED SUGAR COATING:
Roll in plain powdered sugar

CHOCOLATE ICING:
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened Hershey's cocoa
3 tablespoons milk

VANILLA ICING:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons milk

yumm...I used to make these with my grandmother..We always used a jelly lid to make the doughnut shape..Kristi
