1. For the snowman, roll a 4 x 3-1/4 square of white felt (mine had sparkles in it) into a tube shape. place a narrow stripe of hot glue down the back part and seal. You don't have to roll it up extra tight. Just roll it. Once you have it rolled up, you may want to snip the top and bottom to even it up, if it needs it. For the reindeer, I would go with a light tan color and not quite as dark as the one in the above picture. The lighter the color, the more the reindeer's eyes and mouth will show up.
2. For the snowman's cap, I bought the cheap stretchy gloves. I believe they were $1.46 for two pairs at walmart and they made 20 caps. Cut off the fingers on the gloves and snip a little off at the bottom. Roll up the bottom part up a couple times to make the brim of the cap. You can buy the gloves in red, green, ice blue...any colors you want. For the reindeer, I cut a 5 inch piece of fuzzy pipe cleaner and bent it in half. I then pushed it inside the snow cap and it popped through without a problem. Next, bend the pipe cleaner to look like antlers.
3. For the snowman, I hot glued a brad on the front of the snow cap. (I snipped off the back of the brad with wire cutters.) You can also hot glue a snowflake sequin on the hat. I then hot glued a red pom-pom on top of the cap. Lastly, place the cap on top of the felt roll. Surprisingly, you won't have to hot glue the cap on the head. It fits nice and snug!
4. I bought small bottles of puffy paint (dimensional fabric paint) in shiny black, shiny Christmas red and shiny orange. For the snowman, I used uniform black dots for the eyes and mouth, orange for the carrot nose and red for the buttons. Let it dry all day. For the reindeer, I used shiny black for the eyes and mouth, shiny red for the nose. You could use a pom-pom for the nose, but I wanted it to have a different texture from the pom-pom on his snow cap.
5. For the snowman and the reindeer, I used a plaid strip of fabric around his neck. I tied it once and cut fringe at the ends.
6. Lastly, I tied gold ornament/bead thread around the top of the red pom-pom. Now you have a cute, lightweight snowman or reindeer ornament to hang on your tree! Enjoy!
