Fresh Herb Pot~Easy And Thoughtful Gift For The Family Cook!

What a wonderful and inexpensive gift an herb pot would make for the family cook! It's as simple as buying a pot then adding some river rocks to the bottom for proper drainage (found at the dollar tree). Next, add your potting soil and herb seedlings. I would choose 2-3 different herbs to plant in each pot. Leave a little room in between the seedlings for growth. Some nice herbs to consider are basil, parsley, cilantro, rosemary, and thyme. These herbs will grow very nicely indoors! Just set the pot near your kitchen window or in a lighted area. The herbs will also grow very well in a room with fluorescent lighting. If you have the time, you may want to plant herb seeds, however, I prefer using the seedlings for a quick gift.
You can also grow and dry your own herbs. Type in the words "How to dry herbs" in Google and you will come up with a multitude of sites. Enjoy!
